This morning we hit the open road. Literally… this sign means it’s an open speed limit up to 100 km/h. We headed north to Kawiti Glowworm Caves. We toured through the limestone caves filled with stalactites and stalagmites. Once deep inside the cave the guide turned off the light and we saw thousand of glowworms above us. There were several different caverns of glowworms, giving the appearance of the night sky. It was pretty awesome, with better graphics than the planetarium! Unfortunately you can’t take pictures inside the cave. Once we reached the other side we took a bushwalk back to the van. Fortunately the thick tree canopy sheltered us from the rain.
