On the way to groceries this morning we stopped by Whangarei Falls, reportedly one of the most photographed falls in New Zealand. It’s a beautiful place tucked in right next to the highway. We made a short trek down to the base of the falls and hid under the trees during a rain storm. We spotted several eels in the waters above and below the falls.
