Coal Creak is on the site of the first profitable coal mine in Victoria. The courthouse is an original building from the late 1800's. The rest of the town has been recreated to scale depicting the townsite which covers 25 acres. Each building is like a museum filled with historic artifacts. The hill is mined in three faces down to 800 feet.
